My views are based on a simple but powerful principle – strive to do the right thing right, that is sustainable in the long term, regardless of party affiliation.  This is not easy but is critically important to ensure that we leave the world a better place for future generations. Instead of making lofty promises to change the world, I feel it is important to share my values, principles and priorities so that voters know the “why” behind the decisions that (will) guide my views on issues, both current and future.  I also do not claim to be an expert on every issue. As a result, I have relied on the expertise of a group of talented advisors across the political spectrum to truly understand and consider each issue in depth. This input, along with my life’s journey - from humble beginnings to achieving the American dream, have shaped my views. I believe this enables me to be a voice for voters across the spectrum of society, which also aligns with the views of the vast, rational majority of the district and country.  In general, my beliefs are based on the following guiding principles:
